WELCOME TO CANADA E|2|W

AN ART INITIATIVE BY ALLISON ROBIN SMITH, IN CELEBRATION OF CANADIAN LANDSCAPE.

I am making a formal call out to my network of friends, and their network of friends from across the country to share their most cherished photographs of Canadian Landscape. My intent is to celebrate Canada and connect Canadians through visual art.

I hope to find 13 enchanting landscape photographs to use as references for a series of large-scale paintings. I will create one painting from each province and territory, to represent Canada’s landscape, full circle.

It is through art and story that I wish to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation for our country, its land, environment and people. We will engage in conversation while sharing our images, stories and perspectives.

No matter if you are an amateur or professional photographer, all images are welcome!

THIS IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING, AND I NEED YOU TO PARTICIPATE!

Submit your photos and be a part of this art initiative.

2017 marks the 150th year of Canada's Confederation, and what better way to commemorate it than with ART. Photography and paintings in unison.

On Canada Day, July 1st, 2017, I will reveal the 13 photos that I have selected to paint.  Over the course of the next two months, I will document, blog and video the process to share my experience with you as it unfolds.

In the fall the paintings will be exhibited (location(s) to be determined), in parallel with the original photo, and the ‘story’ of the landscape, submitted by the photographer. Full credit and a short bio on the photographer will be included next to each piece.

The scale of this project is truly limitless. It is an incredible opportunity to promote dialogue both within our communities and between communities, everywhere in the country.
